Most people in their thirties feel fine. That is exactly the problem. Muscle mass begins a slow decline around age 30 — commonly cited at 3–8% per decade — and for the first ten years it is invisible. You do not feel it as weakness. You feel it as a slower climb, a longer recovery, or an afternoon that quietly ends at four.
A: Every day, around four, my brain switches off. I used to blame the meetings. B: What did you eat before noon? A: Coffee. Maybe biscuits. B: Then that is not tiredness. That is fuel. You are running an eight-hour day on a one-hour tank. B: Start earlier. Protein at breakfast changes the whole curve. It is not discipline. It is arithmetic.

Why 30 is the decade that matters
Muscle is far easier to keep while you still have it. From around age 30, mass and strength begin a gradual decline — commonly cited at 3–8% per decade — that most people only notice in their forties or fifties. By then, rebuilding is harder than maintaining would have been.
The adult protein guideline from ICMR-NIN (Government of India) is 0.83 g per kg of body weight per day, and about 1 g/kg on a cereal-based Indian diet. For a 70 kg adult, that is roughly 58–70 g a day — a number very few people ever count.
The number most people miss
A typical Indian breakfast — chai and biscuits, or two slices of toast — carries less than 10 g of protein. An eight-hour working day then runs on a one-hour tank. That is the gap, and it is arithmetic, not willpower.

A (34): I lift four days a week. The weights barely move. B: How much protein are you actually eating? A: I eat well. Roti, dal, sabzi. B: "Well" and "enough" are two different numbers. B: Recovery changes first. Then the numbers. Give it a month.

The signs nobody connects to protein
The 4pm collapse — an eight-hour day run on a one-hour breakfast
A gym routine that has stopped moving, despite the effort going in
A recovery that now takes two days where it once took one
Feeling hollow and busy at once — feeding the house and forgetting yourself
"I feel fine" — because the decline is invisible for a decade
I am thirty-eight. We were moving furniture, and my father-in-law — sixty-six — carried the heavier end without stopping.
That night I did the maths: I am thirty-eight, he is sixty-six, and he is stronger. Muscle does not wait until sixty. It starts its slow decline around thirty, and it does not announce itself.

Why Sovor Edge
Sovor Edge is a complete plant protein: 21g complete plant protein (pea + rice), plus Vitamin B12, D3 and Ashwagandha. It is vegan, lactose-free, monk-fruit sweetened — zero added sugar, no sucralose, no maltodextrin.
Sovor Edge is a vegan protein powder and a plant based protein powder in one jar: pea protein and brown rice isolate, monk-fruit sweetened, with no sucralose and no maltodextrin — a genuinely clean protein powder for India.
Vegetarians who fall short on protein
Anyone who finds whey hard on the stomach
Older parents, or anyone recovering — a gentle, lactose-free formulation
Sugar-conscious adults — monk-fruit sweetened
How to read a plant protein label
Four lines on the panel tell you almost everything: protein per scoop, the amino-acid profile (or the protein sources), the sweetener, and the fillers. A clean plant protein states its grams plainly and names what it is sweetened with.
Sovor Edge is 21g of protein a scoop from pea and brown rice, sweetened with monk fruit — with no sucralose, no maltodextrin and no added sugar. If a label will not name its numbers or its ingredients, that is the answer.
Protein per scoop — stated in grams, not “proprietary blend”
Amino-acid profile — a complete pea-and-rice combination
Sweetener — monk fruit, not sucralose or added sugar
Fillers — no maltodextrin, no hidden gums
Why pea and rice together
Plant proteins are not all complete on their own. Pea is rich in some essential amino acids and low in others; rice is the reverse. Combined, they complement each other into a complete amino-acid profile — which is what actually determines protein quality.
That is why this is a blend rather than a single source — and why being lactose-free and vegan is a bonus, not a compromise. ICMR-NIN also advises combining cereals, pulses and milk (roughly 3:1:2.5) on an Indian diet, so the blend fits the plate it is meant to supplement.
Building the daily habit
The easiest way to close a protein gap is to move it earlier in the day. A shake at breakfast takes a minute and changes the shape of the afternoon; most people find the four o’clock crash is really an eight o’clock gap.
One scoop, water or milk, and you have moved 21g into the day before it got busy. The rest is ordinary food — dal, curd, paneer, eggs, soya — with the shake covering what the plate missed.
B: Because the decline begins around thirty, and it is invisible for a decade. You will notice it later as a slower climb or a longer recovery. B: It is the cheapest insurance you will ever buy. Muscle is easier to keep than to rebuild.

A note from the founder
I built SOVOR after 21 years in the Indian Army — where a missed detail costs more than money. I could not find a protein clean enough for my own parents: no sucralose, no maltodextrin, no hidden fillers. So we made one. — Col. Arvind Jadli (Retd.), Founder, SOVOR

Start from the ICMR-NIN figure: 0.83 g/kg/day for adults, and around 1 g/kg/day if most of your protein comes from cereals and pulses. Needs rise with age, training, recovery and pregnancy.
Is plant protein as good as whey?
A complete pea-and-rice blend supplies all nine essential amino acids. Amino-acid profile is what matters for a plant protein, and this blend is formulated to provide a complete profile. If whey has ever left you bloated, a lactose-free plant option is simply easier on the stomach.
What does sarcopenia mean for someone in their 30s?
Sarcopenia is the quiet, age-related loss of muscle. It starts near 30 and continues for decades at roughly 3–8% per decade. The good news is that it is one of the more modifiable aspects of ageing — daily protein and resistance work are the usual recommendations. Seek personal advice from a clinician.
Do vegetarians get enough protein from Indian food?
Often not. ICMR-NIN suggests combining cereals, pulses and milk (roughly 3:1:2.5) for good protein quality; B12 and D3 are common shortfalls on vegetarian diets.
Is delivery available where I live?
Yes, India is covered with free shipping and COD, including all the areas listed above.
Should I treat this as medical guidance?
No — it is general information drawn from published Government of India guidance. For anything personal, check with your doctor or a registered dietitian.
How much protein is in each scoop?
It is 21g per scoop — a complete pea-and-rice blend, with B12, D3 and Ashwagandha in the same jar.
What is it sweetened with?
No added sugar and no sucralose. It is sweetened with monk fruit, a low-GI sweetener, and contains no maltodextrin. That is the whole reason the label is short.
